The Moral Law We Keep Appealing To

Lewis begins where everyone has been: an argument. Two people quarrel, and the words they reach for assume a standard both of them already know…

It is a quarrel about fairness, and fairness is not a matter of taste. Lewis calls that shared standard the Law of Human Nature.

Review & Work It Out · 136 questions across the guide

About us

Why we publish

Our name comes from Ecclesiastes 3:14: “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever.”

It also echoes a moment in the history of communication. In 1844, the first official message Samuel Morse sent over his telegraph was “What hath God wrought,” from Numbers 23:23. With a few taps across a wire, words traveled farther and faster than they ever had before.

Those two verses capture what we hope to do: make things worth keeping and worth sending.

WhatGodDoeth is a Christian publisher. We make books and study guides, with games and music on the way, that help people read Scripture closely, think carefully about what they believe, and carry good ideas beyond the page. Whether through words, images, sound or play, we want everything we make to point back to what God has done, and invite people to look closer.

  • Faith firstScripture sets the direction for everything we publish.
  • For every ageWork that readers, players and listeners of any age can share.
  • Made with careCareful study, clear writing and good design in every title.
“I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it.”
Ecclesiastes 3:14
